罗格斯大学(简称罗大)为美国第8个成立的高等学府，初称皇后学院，是为了表现与本名为国王学院的寄伦比亚大学之姊妹学校关系而命名的。后哥伦比亚大学成为常春藤盟校，罗大改为公立大学后，二者关系逐渐式微。
